Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, born August
26, 2002, is a popular American singer and rapper. He gained mainstream
recognition due to the release of the 2019 single "Ransom", which
peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single was included on his debut
mixtape , We Love You Tecca (2019) which reached number 4 on the US Billboard
200. The mixtape also contained the two singles "Love Me" and
"Did It Again". The album he released as his debut called Virgo World
(2020), debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 at number 10. It included the
Billboard Hot 100 chart-charting songs "Dolly", as well as "When
You Down". The second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August
2021. It included the songs "Repeat It", "Lot of Me" as
well as others. Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was the child of Jamaican
immigrants. He was born August 26, 2002, in Queens, New York City. Sharpe was
born in Queens' Springfield Gardens, after which he moved to Cedarhurst on Long
Island. Sharpe was a kid with ambitions to become a basketball player, but his
attention shifted on music when he turned twelve. He was a student at Lawrence
High School. When Tecca was just nine years old, he responded to his love of
music by rapping with his buddies over his mic on his Xbox. Tecca and his
friends would often make diss tracks about each other. One was uploaded to
SoundCloud some time ago, but the track has since been deleted. He initially
had no plans to pursue a music career, but he dreamed of becoming an NBA star.
In his middle school years however, he began to become bored with basketball
and started taking music seriously. His debut single, "Tectri", which
has gained some attention in early 2017 was made with the help of Lil
Gummybear. He also released "Callin" as one of his first songs. The
career of Tecca began a year later when he released the smash single
"Ransom" that was posted to Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube
channel in May 22, 2019. It peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts
and has been played more than 900,000,000 times on Spotify and more than 300
million times on YouTube.
